The first written reference about Kamenice nad Lipou town originates from the year of 1348, during the king Charles IV. In 1945 a child sanatorium has been established in local chateau, but its activity has been stopped in 1998. The Kamenicky chateau undertook the Praque’s museum of applied art. Not only local rarity is the narrow-gauge railway line from Jindrichuv Hradec to Obratane. It is 46 km long and the building had been finished at Christmas in 1906. Another point of interest is the local railway station. It is the only railway station where cardboard tickets are printed in the whole Czech Republic.
